STEELE CANYON MEN’S SOCCER
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. ATTENDANCE
1. Practice will be held Monday through Friday from 3:00 – 5:30.
2. The student athlete who has 2 unexcused absences may be subject to removal from the team.
3. Student athletes are under no circumstances to miss practice the day before a game. If this does occur, the student athlete will not participate in the game the following day. If this happens more than once, the student athlete may be released from the team.
4. Excessive tardies will result in removal from the team.
5. An unexcused absence for a game may result in removale from the team.
6. The student athlete should attend all days of winter practice (January 2nd-January 9th) at the agreed upon practice times.
2. TRAVEL
1. All student athletes must travel on the bus to and from games for which a team bus is used. Failure to comply may constitute dismissal from the team.
2. All student athletes must stay at the game site during games.
3. The student athlete is responsible for their own transportation for all games for which a bus is not requested by the team. Players must arrive one hour prior to the start of their game for warmups.
3. AWARDS
1. Varsity letters will be given to those athletes that successfully complete the season at the varsity level.
4. CONDUCT
1. Each student athlete must conduct themselves in an appropriate fashion, both on and off the field.
2. Problems with poor attitudes, inappropriate language, disrespect for teammates and/or coaches, dishonesty, and issues of lack of effort may result in dismissal from the team.
3. A major suspension/disciplinary action from the school may result in dismissal from the team.
4. Must sign the Soccer Cautionary Statement.
5. INJURIES
1. Student athletes that are injured must report to practice everyday to support the team, and keep current with all things covered in practice.
2. Persistent or reoccurring injuries to the student athlete that cause non-participation during practice or in games may result in the release of that student athlete from the team.
6. SUBSTANCE ABUSE
1. Any athlete who indulges in the use of non-prescription drugs and/or alcohol may be dismissed from the Soccer team as well as being subject to further disciplinary action.
7. ELIGIBILTY
1. Student athletes are just that, students before athletes. Therefore a 2.0 grade point average must be maintained at all times in order to play in the program. Any player who at any grading period of the season who falls below this mark will be subject to removal from the program.
